The practices of Yoga for the Emotional Body help us develop skill in working with the feelings that come as we (necessarily) encounter the physical and energetic blocks within us. By working together to create safety (through connection, mindfulness, and support), we contain and channel these energies and cultivate trust in our feeling selves. Our emotions, rather than controlling us, become a source for enriching our lives.

Kenneth Robinson, M.S., M.T.S has worked for more than twenty years in the healing arts as a therapist, counselor and teacher. Throughout that time he has been a student of meditation and yoga, and has for many years studied and practiced Alaya Process, a transpersonal approach to healing. First exploring the fields of family counseling (as director of a family counseling center), drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and private psychotherapy practice, he was ultimately drawn to more spirit-centered, body-oriented approaches to healing. Masterfully adept at designing and leading workshops, classes and retreats, he favors a perspective that acknowledges movement and artistic expression as essential ingredients in healthy lifestyle and healing practice, and he recognizes heartfulness and mindfulness as the ground of all healing work.

Linda Manning, Ph.D.,
Psychologist and Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt Center for Integrative Health, is a tireless servant of the disadvantaged and is a strong and capable presence whether in the role of healer, teacher, policy-maker, social reformer, or administrator. She is that rare revolutionary that can live and work inside the established power structure while undermining its elitist agenda. Linda has long been an advocate for women's and minority rights, and has emerged as a leader in the anti-death penalty movement in Tennessee. She has for several years offered her skill and insight to those participating in our workshops, and has hosted many of our events and meditation gatherings.

Music evokes feeling, eases fear, holds heartbreak, inspires us to action, and builds bridges that span our individual differences. Because of this, it is a very powerful source of healing. And few artists know this better than Tom Kimmel. His beautiful and deeply insightful songs have long inspired all of us connected with Alaya Process and Tom's message is reaching an ever-growing international audience. Tom is also a gifted healer trained in the Alaya method who has often volunteered his time to teach, perform and assist at our workshops and professional trainings.
